About the Company

This role is to join an established multi-disciplined building services consultancy.


They provide a comprehensive, customised design and construction service with a strong emphasis on imaginative design as well as effective contract management. They have excellent long lasting business relationships with their clients and their areas of expertise include retail, commercial, hotels, residential and healthcare sectors.


The successful candidate will work as part of a team of engineers responsible for the planning and delivery of all projects assigned. To manage them throughout their lifecycle, carry out surveys and complete necessary reports, as well as maintaining positive relationships with clients.

About the Role

  • Responsible to the Technical Management Director

  • Take ownership, prepare and manage all aspects of engineering projects assigned from start to finish and ensure that all work is carried out within the required timescales and budgetary requirements (to include management of sub-consultants) for delivery to the Client.

  • Undertake engineering surveys to gather precise information in respect of the type of survey being carried out in their various forms.

  • Manage Client expectations, project issues, budgets and invoicing.

  • Prepare and interpret engineering reports, drawings and layouts etc.

  • Perform Building Engineering Services duties in respect of electrical, mechanical and public health systems.

  • Ensure that completed engineering survey reports and other relevant technical output is prepared.

  • Meet, interact and work with Clients, the public, tradesmen and fellow professionals.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of applicable laws and building codes, safety legislation and approved code of practice e.g., L8.

  • Have a good working knowledge of “European Economic Area” Building Services Engineering standards, policies, and legislation.

  • Qualification to be at least (NVQ3) in building services engineering e.g., Mechanical Engineering and three years' experience (following qualification) or recognised Engineering Degree.

  • Effective communication, literacy and interpersonal skills.

  • Possession of a valid passport and EU recognised full driving licence.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule involving travel throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
