This role is role join an established firm of consulting design engineers, specialising in mechanical and electrical services design across the built environment. They work on some really high profile projects across the UK with leading architects, designers and contractors and have an excellent reputation for delivery, quality and reliability of their services.
This company design and specify the mechanical and electrical services for a range of buildings, although their primary sectors are data centres and residential.
Naturally they have an emphasis on sustainable, low-carbon design.
As a result of growth, they are looking for Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of current building services design experience to join the friendly team, in Reading, Berkshire.
About the Role
To produce designs for highly technical data centres and residential projects.
Undertake surveys.
Condition reports.
Detail development of concept designs to include equipment selection and specification etc.
Design and specification of renewable technologies.
Liaison with architects, clients, structural engineers and contractors.
Project Management.
Site inspections.
To be primarily office based to support your learning and career development.
Progression
This is a great position to develop within, and you will be supported by a project director, or senior mechanical design engineer on a day to day basis, but with the emphasis on you being given space to work under your own initiative.

Requirements
A mechanical design engineer with a relevant degree.
Previous datacentre design experience is not essential.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
Some experience of thermal modelling.
Some experience of Revit.
Working knowledge of relevant British Standards.
